In person
When you process a payment in person, CostaPay charges a fee of 1.75% + VAT per chip and PIN or contactless payment.
Online
For Free and Plus plans, the fee for a purchase through CostaPay Online, CostaPayOnline Checkout, Terminal API or in-app payments is 1.4% + 25 cents + VAT for EU & EEA cards and 2.9% + 25 cents + VAT for UK/non-EEA cards.
For CostaPayOnline Premium, the fee is 1.4% + 15 cents + VAT for EU & EEA cards and 2.9% + 15 cents + VAT for UK/non-EEA cards with a monthly fee (billed annually) of €69 + VAT.
Remote
When you manually key in your customer’s card details on the Point of Sale app, the fee is 2% + VAT.
If you use a card on file or take payments via Virtual Terminal or Invoices, the fee is 2.5% + VAT.
